STAGE DIRECTING: WORLD BUILDING

I’m a Midwest-based stage director. My style is driven, minimalistic, musically underscored, and authentically human feeling. I focus on the relationships between the characters, the words being said (and unsaid), and the rhythm of the story. I enjoy crafting dynamic pieces where movement speaks volumes and transitions are lyrical. I am resourceful with my playing space and enjoy creating worlds that unfold as the story does. I stay curious and continue to play throughout the entire process.

I am committed to cultivating a room where we trust our instincts, actively listen to one another, and ask the hard questions. I am interested in new works and reimagining classics, telling the stories of underrepresented voices, female-centered work, and the LGBTQAI+ community.

Where you can find me next: Directing Casey and Diana by Nick Green at American Players Theatre for their Winter Words Reading Series February 26th. Assistant directing A Year with Frog and Toad at Children’s Theatre Company opening in April. I’ll then be back in the woods to assistant direct the first show of APT’s season Ring Round the Moon under Laura Gordon. Then, I’ll head to Milwaukee to direct First Stage’s Contemporary Company Class production of She Kills Monsters by Qui Nguyen.

ACTING CREDITS

I have prioritized directing and moved away from acting on stage. However, my time on stage has shaped who I am as a director and collaborator.
